Situator Scenarios
The following are scenarios that illustrate examples of how some
of the primary features of Situator might be implemented in different
configurations.

Security scenario
(1) Fence sensor sends alert with pre-defined message to control room.
(2) The relevant GIS map pops-up and Situator deploys the relevant perimeter intrusion procedure.
(3) Situator rule commands a nearby camera to point toward the fence sensor and display the monitored video in the control room.
(4) Situator locates and sends task assignments to people best equipped to respond.
Using mobile devices (e.g., PDA), Situator procedure asks responders: “Evidence of tampering?”
(5) If a responder answers “Yes” Situator activates procedure for investigation and suspect search.

Safety scenario
(1) Gas sensor sends alert to control room.
(2) Situator rule instructs sensors on nearby tanks to check for pressure changes to verify the alert and determine if and where there is a leak.
(3) Situator accesses MSDS data for the material in the suspect tank.
(4) Situator correlates data with rate of pressure change and environmental information and displays dynamic GIS plume model.
(5) Situator automatically sends notifications and tasks to relevant responders and authorities.

Enterprise scenario
(1) Card reader in Paris plant generates an alert for after-hours access control violation.
(2) Alert activates access control violation procedure.
(3) Local CCTV camera photographs violator and sends photo to Texas HQ control room.
(4) In HQ control room Situator displays live video from local CCTV and pulls up ID card photo so that security manager can compare with CCTV still image.
(5) If photos do not match, commander informs Situator. CCTV photo, live video stream and tasks are sent to Paris patrols and gate guards.
(6) If suspect is not apprehended within 2 minutes, Situator locks nearby access points for all except dispatched patrols.
