This was primarily accomplished by separating the core sensor logic from the physical interfaces of individual systems. New interfaces require the incorporation of additional gateways that transform the generic functionality of the sensor server to the specific protocol of the new system. This implementation makes sure that the core product always remains unchanged while more and more gateways are added and attached to it. Operator interaction with various systems also remains the same regardless of brand or model. One ACS system, for example, will have exactly the same look and feel as any other when managed from the control room. According to the same concept, all cameras are displayed and managed from the same Situator video matrix regardless of which system they are physically attached to.
The following figure further explains this concept with an illustration.

Situator's generic device Gateways, open architecture, and a team of dedicated experts, ensure that future devices and systems can also be quickly and seamlessly integrated into the same unified monitoring, control, and situation management platform.
